Sleep

To my aunt, sleep has become a luxury. She has been stressed about work and has problems falling asleep at night. She also sets her alarm at 6am so that she can get to work early.
She promised us that once Friday is over, she's going to spend more time with us. She told me that she loves to watch me sleep because 'at least one of us is getting a good sleep.' I think I'm better off being a dog.

Aroma Therapy

I asked Louie what Aroma Therapy is and he said he'll show me. Is he serious? These are Mommy's SOCKS!!!

Daddy is home!

Daddy came home with all these toys for Louie and me. Mommy bought them but Daddy carried them back. We were told to pick one each and I really don't know which to choose. I actually want them all but Louie already has one favorite.

Happy Day

Today is a special day. After Aunt came home from work today, she started packing our kibbles and portable bowls. Louie and I got very excited because we know that this means we're going out. After she finished packing, Mommy drove us to Aunty Jacq's house where we spent a relaxing evening. Aunty Jacq is one of the warmest person in the whole wide world. She's loving and caring and Louie and I just love visiting her.

Louie loves car rides. He especially loves it when he's sitting on his Mama's lap. Just look at how ridiculously happy he looks here.

Daddy is coming home tonight and I'm eagerly waiting for him at home. Mommy has gone to the airport to fetch him. I'm so excited I can't sleep.

Where's my Mama?

With my mommy home these days, my aunt is out a lot. She's either working, out with my mommy or my brother. Louie is starting to miss her and he's always walking around the house with this questioning look.

I wish my mommy will be home more too but when she's home, she'll hold me in her arms and tell me how much she loves me and misses me. I enjoy those times very much and I won't allow anyone to carry me away from her.

Durians

Mommy loves durians and her best friend, Aunty Joyce bought some to welcome her home. As mommy enjoyed the durians, Louie looked on longingly. I was quite surprised because Louie is such a picky eater and he was actually attracted to this smelly fruit. I don't think much of it.

Mommy is home!!

My mommy is home and this quilt is my present. Mine is pink and Louie's is green. Other than a quilt each, we got new collars too. I'm so happy to sleep with my mommy last night and I won't leave her side. I was also very excited to see my big brother again. He tickled my tummy and carried me. Mommy gave me lots of hugs and kisses. I now look forward to seeing Daddy this Saturday. I'm going to give him all my attention to show him how much I love and miss him.

Divine help needed!

Dear God,

I know you hear little dogs' prayers and I'm praying for my aunt who had not been sleeping well. Please let her have a peaceful night's sleep so that Louie and I can get a peaceful night's sleep as well. Whenever she's awake, she'll turn on the light and she'll read or write. The most frightening part is when her eyes gets tired and then she'll either go sit with Louie in his bed and kiss him or she'll give me kisses and cuddles. I love to be cuddled but not when I'm in the middle of a deep sleep. So God, please help my aunt sleep. I need my beauty sleep.....Amen - Trixie

Eyes

My aunt just spent an obscene amount of money on her eyes today. She went for a full eye check up and thankfully, she doesn't have glaucoma or cataract. It was expensive as the nerves of one of her eyes is larger than the other. So tests had to be done to make sure that it's not glaucoma. My godma Cat said that money spent on one's well being is never wasted.

Aunt said that she has been wanting to have a proper eye check up for a couple of years already as grandma lost an eye to glaucoma. She wants to see people grow old and as a person who loves beautiful scenery and photography, she doesn't want to go blind. (She's also a TV addict) She also said that she likes looking into people's eyes as she can tell whether they're truthful, happy, sad, tired or frighten. I wonder if by looking into my eyes, she can tell that I'm craving for a treat.

Happy Birthday, Louie!!

It's Louie's birthday today. He started off this day doing his favorite thing - going for a nice walk and sitting down and enjoying the breeze.Then my aunt gave us a bath which we didn't enjoy and then she showed us the specially ordered birthday muffin from Pawvidence Barkery. They do bigger cakes with lovelier decorations but my aunt asked for simple muffins because I'm allergic to so many things. She ordered a peanut butter and carrot muffin and told them to leave out the cream.

Now look at the whole muffin Isn't it cute? There were a lot more and those are for grandpa, grandma, godma and my aunt.
My aunt told us to be patient and we would have an afternoon tea party. Louie and I were excited when she took out our clothes and we knew it was party time. We sat patiently at the table set out just for both of us. Then she placed the muffin in front of us and my heart just went pounding with excitement. I think Louie was so excited he couldn't smile.

Then I could not control myself and helped myself.I grabbed the largest piece and my aunt tried to take it back.

It was super delicious. Even the usually fussy eater, Louie ate as quickly as he could so that he can keep up with me. I wanted to eat the bear but my aunt said it's not for eating. After we've had our muffins, she took pictures of Louie. Here is the birthday boy:

After a pretty long time, Louie was getting tired and I was happy to be included in the picture.
My aunt said that when it's my birthday, she'll give me a special day too. What she doesn't know is that every day IS a special day for me.

Happy birthday, Louie. You are a good cousin and my best friend and I love you.

Louie's New 'Pillow'

Louie went and found himself a new pillow to rest his head.

Time of preparation

In a week's time, my parents and brother will be home and my aunt is busy preparing for their return. She's tidying up her messy room and making space in her wardrobe for Mommy to hang her clothes. I look forward to sleeping on the mattress with my brother again. Here I am practicing to sleep on the mattress and pillow. I can smell my brother.

My big brother

I adore my big brother, Ben and I can't wait to see him again next week. When he was in Singapore, I love hanging out with him and his friends when they play computer games at our house. I used to go with Mommy to fetch him to school in the mornings and I would bark my goodbyes as loudly as I can to him. Mommy would then quickly drive away and then I will cry. I would spend the rest of the morning waiting for him to come home.
Here is a picture of Ke Ke Ben that I like most. He used to be a picky eater but since living in Shanghai, he has learnt to eat just about anything. I'm so proud of him.

Getting old?

My aunt said that her eyes are getting old because she now needs glasses to read. (Just her eyes, the rest of her is still young) If she doesn't have her glasses on, this is how a photograph of Louie will look like to her. However, she said that with or without reading glasses, she's able to tell that Louie is putting on one of his famous 'black' face here. And because my aunt is also 'losing her mind' (her words, not mine), she bought many reading glasses and spread them all over the place. 2 or 3 for the office, 2 for home, 1 for each handbag and 1 for her bible study bag.

World best oatmeal cookies

According to my aunt, this is the BESTEST oatmeal cookie she has ever tasted. She got it from the lady from Pawvidence Barkery who is going to bake Louie's birthday cake. Seems there're raisins in it which my aunt loves. She also mentioned that there's a secret ingredient that gave it such a wonderful taste. As I smacked my lips and begged with my big, soft, brown eyes, my aunt wolved down every teeny tiny crumb. How selfish!!!

Hair clips

Can you see my pink hair clips? My aunt bought them from JB today. She went shopping with Aunty Jacq and she brought me back this surprise.

My aunt also bought more books. She found a Christian bookstore there and she just went nuts over the pricing of the books. SO the pile next to her bed just got higher. Sigh...

Shopping

My aunt and my Godma went to Mustafa Travel Agent to collect my aunt's colleague's passports. But when they arrived at Mustafa, they got distracted and only collected the passports nearly 4 hours later. tsk tsk tsk.....

Oops!!!

Grandpa went to buy our food today and he left the packet of AvoDerm Oven Baked Lamb and Brown Rice on the dining room chair. I could smell the kibble. So while my grandpa took his afternoon nap and my grandma watched her TV, I slowly bit a hole through the plastic bag that held the bag of kibbles and then bit through the packaging and started eating them. I knew I was in trouble when Grandma scolded me. I quickly ran to hide.

On Skype with Mommy

I talk to Mommy every night on Skype. At about 8pm every night, I'll remind my Aunt to call Mommy. Then Mommy, Daddy and Ke Ke Ben will take turns to talk to Louie and I.

Here I am giving Mommy a good night kiss. That is Mommy's favorite part of the night.

I'm SO HAPPY!!

My family is coming back soon for a holiday!! My mommy and brother will fly back first and last night, my mommy told me that my daddy is going to fly back a few days later.

My mommy said that she can't wait to hold me and hug me again and I'm looking forward to that too because I miss my mommy so much. I can't wait to wake my brother up in the morning just like I used to when he was studying in Singapore. I can't wait to have my daddy sayang me NON STOP.

My grandma said that once everybody is home, she's going to give everyone a treat on the Singapore Flyer. I wonder if four-legged family members are allowed.

See No Evil

The first quarter of this year had been a tough one for my aunt and her colleagues. They were working hard for the Alpha conference and my aunt went to work before the sun rose and came home after the sun set. She worked at home every weekend and she did not have time to bring us to the groomer. This was how we looked and she called it our 'See NO Evil look' or she'll tell friends that her dogs have become sheep while she was busy. Some people actually like this look and told her to leave us looking like this. I would like to give those a free tattoo with my teeth.

What really matters

I did not graduate from obedience school, learn any circus acts or take part in any dog shows but whatever I do, my grandpa said I add color to his life. Even though I get into mischief a couple of times a day on a GOOD day, I know I'm being loved.

So I realized that it is not how much I know or how much I've achieved or even how pretty I am that matters but it's who I AM that counts.

So Maple, what I want to say is that even with the bad hair cut, I can't help but agree with my mom and my aunt that you are a very adorable dog. I think when people look at you, they don't see the hair cut at all. They see a loving, cute, friendly and special dog.

Order BIRTHDAY cake????

My aunt told me to keep it a secret but she has ordered a birthday cake for Louie from a famous baker. She won't even tell me the rest but I'll try to find out and let everyone knows. Seems this baker is so popular, you have to place your order at least 2 weeks in advance. Louie's birthday is on 19 July. Hmmmm.... I really hope that I will like it.

Maple's New Look

It's about 38 to 40 degrees in Shanghai and my parents and brother are suffering. I do feel for them but I feel even worse for Maple. She's not only suffering the heat, she's suffering from a bad hair cut too. Thank God my groomer does a better job than hers.

What is this book about?

My aunt just took out this book. Will somebody please tell me if this is a joke book?

Sleep

Since I've been so abruptly and not to mention rudely awaken from my beauty sleep, I might as well blog some more. My mommy has always commented on my 'unglamorous' way of sleeping and I really don't see the problem. My eyes are closed; I can't see how I sleep, so it doesn't matter to me.

Today Maple's mommy made me very happy. She took a picture of Maple sleeping and well, I think I've stopped looking at Maple as a competition but as a kindred spirit in sleeping. Just look at her.

What's with Marley?

I really don't know what my aunt was up to tonight. First I was woken from my sleep by the sound of her crying quietly while she was reading. Louie and I were curious but we thought we had better leave her alone. The last time we tried to comfort her while she was watching TV about the earthquake victims, we ended up being furiously hugged and kissed.
Then just as I was drifting off to dreamland again, I was rudely woken up by her hugging me and kissing me and telling me how much she loves me. And then she went and did the same to Louie only he was already expecting her. And then she tried to squeeze all 3 of us onto the same bed with her.
I'm curious. What is it that she read in Marley & Me that can set off such strange behavior in a seemingly sane woman?

Our Favorite Toy

My favorite toy is a lion that I got for my birthday. Louie likes it too but I hold it close to me all the time. Sometimes I hug it to bed.

Louie's favorite toy is a monkey that can hang round his neck. He gets angry when I take his monkey from his bed and he will chase me round the house to get it back.

What makes a dog happy

This is so easy. It is being with the one they love.

These pictures were taken by my mommy while my aunt was talking to her over skype. Look at how contented Louie is just being close to my aunt. (Didn't I tell you he's a mama's boy?) A perfect day for Louie would be the day his mama is home the entire time.

My mommy is not here but I feel just as close to her listening to her voice and I get lots of cuddles from my grandparents and aunt. In fact, my mommy thinks I'm getting spoilt here. I'm not protesting, though; I love it!!

Trust

My aunt asked Louie a funny question today. She asked: Louie, do you trust me to take good care of you?
Louie looked at her, smiled at her and then gave her an assuring kiss.
Later, Louie told me that he can never figure the human mind. We who are the ones who are totally dependent on them seem to have more faith in them than they. Maybe that's why humans have problems trusting God.

Letter to Maple

Dear Maple,

You see my mommy so often, I hope you will not steal her heart. When my mommy speaks about you, I can tell that she's very fond of you. I'm a very fair 'person'. You steal my mama's heart and I'll steal your mama's heart when she comes to Singapore.

Look at the mess I've to put up with

Maltese in stroller

We saw a lady pushing her Maltese in a baby stroller today. My aunt said hello to her and she told us that she is pushing her dog in a stroller because it is too old and weak. My aunt, who is ever ready to take out her camera to snap a photo, immediately put her camera back into her bag. As we walked away, my aunt told me that she didn't take the photo because she didn't know if the lady would mind. I think the real reason is that she doesn't want to be reminded of the inevitable. She's a coward.

My Godma

This is my Godma Cat. I love her so much because she is so very kind. She buys me lamb from the supermarket because she knows it's my favorite. See how happy we are here. Godma Cat is my aunt's best friend. They have been best friends for many centuries. My aunt told me that best friends are treasures and not to be taken for granted.

I don't have a best friend that is because I have MANY best friends. Anyone who loves me is my best friend. But my Godma is special and when I know she's coming to visit, I'll wait by the main door for her.
